Samuel Adams Barrel Room Collection Beer, Stony Brook Red

Belgian style with a hint of tart fruit and toasted oak character. Aged in oak barrels. At Samuel Adams, we have been barrel aging small batches of beer for many years. Our brewers have free rein to experiment, and one of their favorite places to do so is in the barrel room of our Boston Brewery. It is in this special room where centuries of brewing tradition meet craft brewing ingenuity. We have long used traditional barrel aging to soften flavors in beer while imparting a sweet, toasty note. Until now, these beers have only been enjoyed by a few lucky brewery visitors. I'm excited to roll out the barrels and release these special beers to the public for the first time with the Samuel Adams Barrel Room Collection. Cheers, - Jim Koch, Founder and Brewer. Stony Brook Red: Belgian style with tart fruit and toasted oak character. This unique full-bodied brew defies traditional beer style definition. The rich malty brew combines notes of tart fruit with a toasted oak character from the barrel aging. The long dry finish is almost wine-like. This is a beer that is refreshing on its own and also pairs well with a wide variety of foods from roasted or braised meats to dark chocolate desserts. 9% alc./vol. Brewed by the Boston Beer Company, Boston, MA.
